Uni student lands NASA dream job

A Sydney PhD student is still seeing stars after he was hand picked to join a NASA .

A Sydney school understudy has taken a goliath hop and discovered his dream work at NASA. 

Seamus Thomson at first awed the space research association with his student regards proposition, which he submitted in the 2015 Australian Science Prize. 

While Mr Thomson just left behind an awesome open door for the lead position, his runner-up position landed him a 10-week brief position at NASA's Ames Research Center where he was drawn closer to stay for a further year. 

The unobtrusive scientist said it was just an issue of being "at the advantageous spot at the right time". 

"This has been an enduring energy, yet I did not understand that I could end up at NASA," he told AAP. 

"I am still stunned by it." 

The PhD understudy is analyzing paying little respect to whether there is verification of life on Enceladus, one of Saturn's moons. 

He said there are four criteria for life to exist: nitrogen, liquid water, organics and an imperativeness source. 

"From the space make that went there (Enceladus) quite a while back, it has conveyed the best affirmation and chose the most clear open door that there is life on Enceladus in our adjacent planetary gathering (beside Earth)."
